  • 35-year term to maturity, 10-year electricity supply contract with Statkraft

Commerz Real has acquired the first solar park for its newly launched impact fund klimaVest. Located near Tordesillas in the northern Spanish province of Valladolid, it is expected to produce more than 74 gigawatt-hours of solar energy in the first year after grid connection (planned for January 2021) and to meet the average demand of 18,800 Spanish households. “The park fits perfectly into the fund’s strategy of significantly reducing CO2 emissions in Europe and offering our investors the opportunity for an attractive return,” explains Johannes Anschott, Chairman of the Management Board of Commerz Real.

The seller of the park is international project developer and service provider BayWa r.e., which also handles on-site operation and maintenance. For the first ten years of the 35-year term, there is already a power purchase agreement in place with Statkraft Markets GmbH, Europe’s largest electricity generator for renewable energies.

“Tordesillas reaffirms our ambitions to grow internationally and to diversify the klimaVest portfolio in terms of both country and technology”
