What makes klimaVest an excellent fund?

Since the launch of the fund in October 2020, klimaVest has written a remarkable success story: As the first open-ended renewable energy fund for private investors in Germany, the ELTIF has made a new asset class available to Commerz Real for a broad group of investors. Today, klimaVest is the largest ELTIF on the German market with a fund volume of around 1.6 billion euros¹ - and holds almost half of the total German ELTIF market volume.

Scope Award - Awarded by Europe’s leading rating agency.

The Scope Award is one of the most important awards in the German fund industry and is presented annually by Scope together with Handelsblatt. For this purpose, Scope analyses around 12,500 funds and hundreds of asset managers according to quantitative and qualitative criteria - including market position, innovative strength, fund management quality, product range and customer service.

klimaVest was awarded the Scope Award for the first time in the special category of innovation. The renowned rating agency Scope thus recognises our pioneering work in the area of sustainable infrastructure investments and the successful development into Europe’s largest ELTIF.

Scope Rating - Assessed. Acknowledged. Convincing.

The rating agency Scope rates klimaVest with the rating (P) a+ AIF - a strong signal for the quality of the fund.² Scope certifies klimaVest a good risk-adjusted return on the basis of quantitative and qualitative criteria. Investment strategy, portfolio quality, risk management and the competence of the fund management are taken into account in the evaluation. In the European fund industry, Scope is considered one of the most renowned analysis bodies for alternative investments in tangible assets. The rating was last confirmed in December 2024. The “(P)” stands for preliminary rating. After two full financial years have been completed, Scope can issue a final rating. The preliminary rating already reflects the high quality assessment of the fund by independent analysts.

finanzwelt Award - Awards for what matters: billions of dollars of trust.

The trade journal finanzwelt presented the AIF and ELTIF Awards for the first time as part of the “ELTIF 2.0 and AIF Summit 2025” in Frankfurt on 14 May 2025. Outstanding products and providers were awarded in the categories Innovation of the Year, Assets under Management and Asset Manager of the Year.
klimaVest was awarded in the “Assets under Management” category. The jury recognised the company’s market leadership: With a fund volume of around 1.5 billion euros, klimaVest is by far the largest ELTIF on the German market - a testament to the extraordinary confidence investors place in the fund. Dr. Nicole Arnold, Member of the Management Board of Commerz Real AG, personally accepted the award.

Renditewerk is the leading information platform for foundations and investors close to foundations in the German-speaking region. The award as “Foundation Fund of the Year 2025” proves that klimaVest is also a convincing solution for institutional investors with a specific investment order.

Among other things, the jury assesses the risk/return profile, transparency, regularity of distribution and suitability for fulfilling the foundation’s purpose. This is a special recognition that positions klimaVest far beyond the traditional private investor target group - and shows that a product that is suitable for demanding foundations can particularly convince long-term-oriented private investors.
